I love the thoughtful interior design at Pure Guest House in Hout Bay. The rooms are comfortable, the staff are kind and helpful, and breakfast is delicious with an ocean view. It’s also a lovely place to take in the breathtaking scenery. Once again, it didn’t disappoint, and I’m certain I’ll return.

The bay view and surroundings were beautiful, but our stay was very disappointing and left us uncomfortable. This was our 11th trip to South Africa, so we’ve had quite a bit of experience with hotels and guest houses. This place was unusual: it was managed from Franschhoek, with two young women only sometimes there to prepare breakfast and clean the room. We were the only guests, and there were no new arrivals expected while we were there. We had booked and paid for 12 nights, but left after four without a refund.

We had four amazing days at Pure, and I’d definitely do it again. The views in Hout Bay are astonishing, the decor is elegant and attractive, and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The staff were kind and attentive. Thanks, Pure Team! And by the way, the complementary Lynx Rose is delicious :)

It was so peaceful here, with the pool, green garden, and lovely views across HoutBay to the mountains and those sunsets. Our room was lovely, and the care felt really personal. It’s a quiet escape from city life, but still close to plenty of good places to eat in HoutBay. Marcelino and Sean looked after us so well and shared helpful suggestions. We’ll be back.

We’d happily return. The rooms are lovely, the view is great, and the hosts are wonderful. Breakfast was delicious too. Easily one of the best places to stay in Hout Bay and Cape Town.
