Ruxmian Lodge

I arrived to find there was no wifi, despite being assured there would be. I wanted to pay, but the proprietor couldn’t get a signal for an hour, so I couldn’t make the payment. Without wifi, I also couldn’t join an international ZOOM meeting and lost income. There was too much street light coming into the room for me to sleep, and large delivery trucks made noise outside the window early in the morning. I also got three flea bites, which is completely unacceptable. The heavy manual gate had an awkward lock that was difficult to work from the street. As a woman on my own, I felt it was dangerous to go out and come back at night. Since I couldn’t sleep or sort out payment, I left early in the morning and booked somewhere much better. Don’t let the photos fool you.

The host was friendly and the service was great. My room was clean and nice, with a small fridge and fresh milk alongside the usual tea and coffee. It’s close enough to run to the beach for a refreshing jog along the shore.

It’s a lovely place in a quiet, safe neighborhood where people park their cars outside. The surroundings are ideal if you like peace and quiet. I’ll definitely visit again.
