The scenery is breathtaking, and the peaceful setting made it easy to relax. Our room was beautiful and the shower was excellent. Spanish Farm is still fairly new, though, and a few details could be improved. Water wasn’t replenished in the room every day, and toilet rolls only got replaced if we asked. At Sky Villa, another RAW Africa property where I’d stayed before and had an exceptional experience, we received water and chocolates daily. Adding bottled water at the gym and in the room would be a nice touch here too. The TV in room 4 looked slightly off alignment, as if it hadn’t been installed quite right. I appreciated that separate halal options were provided. Since the items came from Woolworths, there might have been room for a wider choice, or for staff to ask if guests wanted anything else. We did get croissants daily, which was appreciated. I know this is a new boutique hotel and service details can improve with time. Despite those small shortcomings, it’s a stunning, tranquil place with a lot of potential, and I’d definitely come back.

Vernon, the manager, was especially welcoming and attentive, and his friendly, professional manner made the stay memorable. The food was excellent, the rooms were comfortable and stylish, and the grounds were well kept. A beautiful boutique hotel with a calm, luxurious feel. Highly recommended.

The villas are relaxed and have everything you need. It’s a neat, new and peaceful place tucked into the mountain, with the ocean in the distance. Very zen without going overboard, and superb.

We had a poor experience despite the beautiful location. Several things shown online, including hot tubs, a nature pool, an outdoor fireplace, and a braai area, are only available to villa renters, not hotel guests. That wasn’t made clear and felt dishonest. Communication from staff and management was lacking. The restaurant hours listed were wrong, some menu items weren’t available, the gym equipment and hair dryer didn’t work, and our lunch took over an hour. We had to go find staff ourselves. For this price and reputation, what was advertised and what we actually got were miles apart. Management didn’t offer a real solution afterwards.

I was here for a meeting, and was struck by how beautiful, serene, and peaceful the place is. The views are amazing, and everything was in tip-top shape.
