Stayeasy Cape Town City Bowl

The staff didn't make us feel welcome, and nobody helped with our big suitcases, so we had to haul them ourselves. There was no bottled water in the room, and the outlets didn't fit UK three-pin plugs. The shuttle was extremely expensive, too. We also couldn't get lunch or dinner at the hotel and had to go next door to find food. I've never had such a disappointing hotel stay. I wouldn't recommend StayEasy at all, especially for a place that claims to be three-star.

My stay was really enjoyable, and the hotel was clean and modern. In the mornings the lifts get so packed that you can't use the stairs, which was frustrating. There are two restaurants, but to reach one you have to go through the other hotel in the same building. Parking also felt pricey, and I paid R90 for two regular cans of Coke.

The location made this a convenient stay, with everything nearby and no need to go far. My wife and I found the room and bed quite small, though it was clean and looked after well. Breakfast was basic, with limited choice, but fine. It was a cozy hotel, and I barely spoke with staff since there didn't seem to be many around.

The ground floor dispensers for ice, snacks, cold drinks and Red Bull were handy, and the hotel itself was clean, modern and well located. Still, after four nights here in February 2026 with my spouse for our honeymoon, I wouldn't choose it for a leisure trip. We had asked in advance for a mountain-view room but didn't get one. The space was very tight: opening two suitcases at once wasn't possible, and the bathroom was small too. Our mini fridge didn't work, so some takeaway food spoiled. Breakfast covered the basics but had limited choice and no live counters. At about R2000 a night, having no complimentary bottled water was a real inconvenience. We had to keep going downstairs or outside to buy drinking water. It's an efficient business hotel, but I wouldn't recommend it to couples or leisure travellers wanting a comfortable, relaxed stay.
