We came back because our first visit was good: Vela greeted us warmly, the room was in good shape, and the price was affordable. But yesterday she wasn't there, and Blaze was. The towels in the room were wet, and the bed looked like someone had been sitting on it. We asked for fresh towels and got just one. Before long, there was loud music and people shouting in the passage. The curtains didn't feel private, as if someone could open them at any moment, which worried us because somebody was working on a car outside. We felt disturbed and unsafe, so we left. When we went, we found out Blaze had been making all the noise. It was very unprofessional, and we won't return.

The room was large and clean, and they did replace the dirty cup I found with a clean one. But I wondered whether rooms are checked after cleaning: the first room I was given when booking in had a faulty toilet, and the second had that dirty cup. The mattress was very uncomfortable as well. We tried to shower before leaving, but the warm water took ages to come through. I told Omar at reception. They need to raise their standards or they'll lose business.

I booked on 5 May and confirmed with the guesthouse that I'd be checking in late. While on my way there, I called to say I was still coming, and was told they wouldn't open the door and I should make other arrangements. Awful service. I definitely wouldn't recommend them.

It looks like an okay place, but the location seems dangerous, with a homeless settlement up the bank. The rooms look small too. I wouldn't choose it for a longer stay, maybe just one night if I were really desperate.

The host was friendly and welcoming, but the room felt a bit bare. There wasn't a bin, and the TV didn't work.
