The studio was much bigger than I expected, with plenty of space. It was very comfortable too, and the shower got nice and hot. Iddi did a great job with the site inspection. I’d definitely recommend staying here while in capetown.

We left after just two days, despite having booked the whole week. Reception didn’t answer when we called for help, and the accommodation was in such poor shape that we couldn’t stay. There were strong smells of smoke and weed in every room, absorbed into the bedding, curtains and furniture. Damp and mould were visible throughout, and one shower wouldn’t drain, leaving water pooled on the floor. The rooms were inconsistent too: some had hairdryers, mirrors, fans and basic supplies, while others didn’t. Towels and bedding were torn or stained brown, the rooms were dirty, and the couches had cigarette burns. Our group of four was in Cape Town for work. We each booked a separate room in the 9 Palms apartments through Smart City Stays. From arrival onward, the experience was extremely disappointing. Based on our stay, I wouldn’t recommend either Smart City Stays or the 9 Palms apartments.
Smart City Stays’ back office team sorted out an administrative mix-up that caused confusion at their Century City accommodation, and I’m pleased with how they responded for me and my team. The location is extremely convenient for visiting our key customers in Century City and Cape Town. I’m confident the team will be looked after well when they visit again. PLEASE AVOID booking any property managed by this company. We booked a two-bedroom apartment for three nights, and at 14:00 on the first day it still wasn’t fully clean or ready. One bedroom had a broken lamp left in place. A wardrobe shelf collapsed under a lightweight blanket and a pair of sneakers, and one bed sagged on one side. Just before we went to sleep, we also noticed a mark on the sheet. The WiFi was practically nonexistent. We begged for help and still got none. Communication was very poor, and the replies made it seem like they didn’t care about clients as long as they got paid. Check-in was tedious too: you have to go somewhere else to check in and collect the key, then travel to the property, unless it’s “The residences”. The apartment and the management were both a huge disappointment.
We had a dreadful three-night stay in a two-bedroom apartment managed by this company. On arrival at 14:00, it still wasn’t ready, and cleanliness was poor. There was a broken lamp, shelves fell, and one side of the bed was sunken. WiFi didn’t work, and although we asked repeatedly for help, no one assisted. Communication was awful and gave the impression they didn’t care about clients. Don’t waste your time or money.
