Melody made check-in a highlight. She showed us around the property, explained everything carefully, and was so warm and kind that we felt at home right away. Elton and his team welcomed us with open arms and made sure we had what we needed throughout our stay. I’ve forgotten the names of the other girls at the front, but they were lovely too. We got helpful dinner recommendations as well as suggestions for local activities and things to do, which helped us make the most of the visit. The hospitality made the stay much more enjoyable. We’ll definitely return and highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a welcoming, memorable experience.

Mr. Elton gave us useful advice about staying safe in CT, transportation, and the concierge services, and answered all our questions. Ms. Sheila welcomed us on our early evening arrival with tasty drinks before check-in. She showed us the lobby, including the wine, and the breakfast area, then offered a complimentary cake she described as “made with love and passion.” She also walked us to the room, pointed out where things were, and explained the bucket in the shower. Breakfast was complimentary. Ms. Zukiswa, Ms. Melody & Ms. Amahle served coffee, delicious hot chocolate, flaky croissants, “crumple” pancake, and omelette. There were also cheeses, cold cuts, pastries, yogurt, and cereals. The lunch options were nicely presented, tasty, sensibly portioned, and reasonably priced. Our room was clean and comfortable, with bathrobes, slippers, coffee, tea, bottled water, and a balcony with chairs. Housekeeping changed our towels, made up and turned down the bed, and placed towels and our slippers on both sides. Everyone seemed focused on making guests comfortable.

Sleep was the basic thing this accommodation failed to provide. Traffic directly outside our room continued through the night, making rest impossible. It wasn’t occasional city noise or passing traffic. When we raised it with the manager, they said the owners already knew about the problem and had delayed soundproofing while still renting out the room. We weren’t told before booking, and would not have stayed had the listing been clear. The experience fell short of both the description and reasonable expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend the property until the noise is fixed and disclosed in advance. Update after the owner’s response: To be clear, the issue was constant road traffic right outside the room, which the manager acknowledged was known, with soundproofing planned but delayed. The owner’s reply framed it as a matter of personal tolerance and downplayed what we experienced and what was acknowledged on site. We received a full refund after complaining, which also reflects that the stay didn’t meet the advertised basic standard.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the design throughout is lovely. It’s tucked away on a quiet dead-end street, a real hidden gem, with top-notch service. Each day there was a gin cocktail, wine, and freshly baked cake. Part of your bill also goes toward local education efforts. Highly recommend staying here.
