Tintswalo Atlantic

We spent five nights here and had a good range of dishes to choose from, plus a big selection of first-class wines. Even with lots of people coming in for lunch and dinner, sometimes booked two or three months ahead, the guests staying at the hotel weren’t affected. There’s a small pool and a separate lounge for residents, both quiet spots to relax. The room was about 10 metres from the ocean at high tide and 30 metres away at low tide. Service was great, and everyone was friendly. A shuttle takes you from reception up the hill to the parking area, usually in three to five minutes. We never waited more than three minutes, and often got straight on.

The Robben Island theme in our room was thoughtfully done and felt especially fitting for a trip to South Africa. The room itself was spacious, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the panoramic views were huge. There’s a lovely daily routine of canapés on the terrace between 5 and 6 pm. On arrival, we were offered a drink and shown around, and the hotel’s position right above the ocean made an immediate impression. You park first, then get driven down to the hotel, which makes the arrival feel special. It’s a distinctive, memorable place for anyone who enjoys atmosphere, scenery, and a strong connection to its setting.

We’ve already visited twice and will certainly be back. Thanks to the whole team! We’re a little late posting this and wanted to apologize. All four of us were impressed by the setting, the food, and especially the attentive, thoughtful, friendly service. Viktor led the team with a calm, understanding manner. One friend felt unwell at lunch, and he responded with real care and professionalism. Michael was just as attentive, helping my friend find some peace and comfort. That kind of genuine support from staff deserves a lot of praise.

Dinner was immaculate from start to finish, and we loved watching the waves from the restaurant as we ate. Breakfast was delicious too, and the service throughout was fantastic. Tintswalo Atlantic is built into the cliffs, with uninterrupted coastal views and a beautiful outlook over Hout Bay. Our room was spacious and comfortable, decorated with vibrant colours and unusual art. We could see the ocean from the bed and even from the bathtub, which made waking up there unforgettable. The main lodge is beautifully designed, with plenty of cosy, elegant corners to relax in. We can’t wait to return.
