Kromrivier is our favorite spot in the Cederberg. Even after the veld fire, the property is beautiful, and there’s loads of good hiking nearby, along with rock climbing and horse riding. The craft beer is great, and so is the on-site restaurant.

The bathroom gets 10/10. The restaurant has great food in an awesome setting, and there’s a nice shop next door. They also sell some locally brewed beers. Next time I visit the area, I’ll try to get there sooner so I can enjoy a meal here.

A remote hideaway in South Africa, well off the beaten track. The dirt roads are manageable if you take it slow, and the Cederberg is wonderful to explore. The luxury Chalets are stunning, and there’s a lovely luxury tented camp as well as nice camp sites with their own WC facilities. The restaurant and shop cover every need. We could do this again.

We camped this time, though I’ve stayed in the Chalets before. It’s a great base for exploring the Cederbergs, with different accommodation options and a lovely restaurant serving local beer and wine. The staff are well trained.

As a solo hiker, I found it easy to arrange permits at reception. The hike up to Luna and Winterbach peaks was fantastic, and the restaurant was a good place to finish with a meal and beer.
