I’ve now stayed at Mt Horeb twice while travelling on business in the Free State, and had an excellent time both times. Sonia’s kindness and hospitality really stood out, and the guest house is impeccable. It feels very safe, and the location is perfect for getting into town while still taking in the amazing view of Mt Horeb. I’d definitely recommend it!

The hosts were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and well equipped, and the view was stunning. Breakfast was delicious, and there was safe parking and good WiFi too. Netflix would make it just about perfect.

My daughter and I came for a midweek break, and we loved the warmth and peace of this beautiful guest house. There’s so much attention to detail, and breakfast was delicious. The owners are such lovely people, a joy to chat with. I’d recommend it 100%, this is THE place to stay in Clarens.

Mt Horeb really feels like a home away from home. Jessica and Zorro always welcome me and help with whatever I need, and the owners are lovely too. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. They even offered us peaches from their trees, lol. I love staying here.

The resident kitty was my personal highlight. If you’re lucky, it’ll come over to say hello :) Jessica was incredible and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The rooms and breakfast were awesome, and the whole place was just 5 stars, such a wonderful spot to unwind and recharge. Thanks, Jessica. This was the first of many getaways for mon and u, and you made it really special ❤️
