Paddocks 6

We had a great holiday with our group and really enjoyed the home. We stayed in house number 19. It's a little modern, but still has an old fashioned feel, and the couches could do with an update. Other homes in the complex have more modern furniture. The last day left a sour taste. We heard that other tenants or guests hadn't appreciated the love songs we played in the mornings. It's a quiet area, so sound carries, though our music wasn't loud. Our host had two contact numbers for the group. If someone had let us know, we would've gladly turned it down. Clarens is beautiful, but racism is still very much rife. The African residents and visitors were much nicer to us than some of the other residents.

The furniture looked very old fashioned compared with the other units in the facility. When we got to unit 19, there was also quite an odorous smell, which seemed to come from the cleaning facility using a dirty mop. We only learned from the host, after asking, that there'd been an unplanned power outage. The fridge was fully defrosted when we arrived, and after driving for hours we needed to put our meat straight into a freezer.

After travelling most of the day, we were disappointed to arrive at an apartment with a terrible smell, even though it had been cleaned. No one had told us about the power outage, so the fridge wasn't cold and we lost a lot of meat and food. The apartment was very outdated and had little storage space.

We enjoyed our stay there, and the view is so nice.
