I chose North Lodge Self-Catering in Durban because it was one of the few pet-friendly places around while I was there to pick up a car at We Buy Cars Riverhorse. Bringing my cat along was easy, and the lodge was clean, comfortable, and equipped with what I needed for an overnight stop before driving back to Cape Town the next day. Brad even made my late-night arrival and check-in smooth. If you're travelling with a pet, it's a welcoming place with great service.

North Lodge self-catering North Beach is in a quiet area and has a great location. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and the hosts were helpful, accommodating and wonderful. There's off-street parking too, which is a bonus. I'd recommend it for someone travelling alone on a budget or for a family.

I felt safe travelling alone and slept peacefully after a long day. The staff and owner were friendly and helpful, and my room was neat. The bathroom, kitchen and dining room were clean too. I had a nice one-night stay and would definitely recommend the place.

I had to cancel at the last minute, and they gave me a full refund, just as they promise before booking. In South Africa, getting every cent back after cancelling isn't the norm, so I found them trustworthy. They also have better options among their cottages. I'll book again on a future holiday.

When an unexpected change of plans meant cancelling, the owner responded right away and I had my deposit fully refunded by the next day. The service was prompt and friendly, the most sincere and professional cancellation experience I've had. I hope to stay here next time I get the chance.
