My sister and I were both given rooms with broken air conditioners, and it seems the hotel knew, since fans were waiting for us. They should have an elevator, or at least let guests know there are stairs. I didn’t like my mother having to go up and down them.

The worst part was the noise. People at the hotel were making noise from 11pm until 2am, and the Wimpy was the worst I’ve visited. My family and I spent R570 there and got terrible service from the night shift ladies, who were disrespectful to customers. I paid R1600.00 for a noisy night at this Bayside hotel, with cockroaches moving around. The hotel is a crab hotel, and they sell you lies. Bayside Hotel 108 management and the Wimpy restaurant need to look into all this. I really want a call back from management at both places. I can’t recommend either one.

The security was great, but there are no shades over the parking lot. The hotel is close to the beach and the rooms are spacious enough, though maintenance needs attention. Our air-con was barely working, and our room wasn’t cleaned until after 14:30 the day before checkout, which I wasn’t happy about. They could also improve the soups they provide and supply basics like tea bags, coffee, sugar, and milk.

People in the next room were playing loud music on a speaker. I complained several times, and although they did attend to it, the music kept going. When I raised the price I’d paid and the fact that I hadn’t slept well the next morning, they said I should have asked to be moved. I hadn’t done anything wrong, so why didn’t they move the people making noise? When I asked them to call the manager, they said they couldn’t and told me to phone the number on the wall. Yoo, I’ll never book there again. The one on pine street is better.

The rooms were great and everything worked just fine. Staff were lovely from reception and housekeeping to the security team. Thanks for the clean towels and good Wi-Fi, Bay side 108. I really loved staying here and would definitely recommend it.
