Adara Palmiet Valley Luxurious Boutique Hotel

The team made planning easy, and everyone was warm, attentive, and straightforward to work with. Adara Palmiet Valley has gorgeous mountain views and a peaceful setting, with thoughtful design throughout. It feels like a special, almost magical place for a wedding, and a lovely option for couples hoping for an elegant, memorable celebration.

The setting under the oaks is beautiful, and you can see the potential, but we left disappointed after paying R1600 for dinner for 2. I’d like to come back if things improve, though I probably wouldn’t return as it stands. The Caesar salad was the best dish, and the carpaccio was decent at most. The beetroot tartar was the biggest letdown: barely cooked chopped beetroot with a little lettuce, tasting like it came from a tin. At that price I expected more flavour, dressing, or care in the presentation. The watermelon gazpacho was bland and simply plopped into a bowl. There’s room here for more exciting, flavourful food, but the execution wasn’t there. The food was shocking for the prices, and the service was below average in South Africa. We had a reservation and arrived on time, but waited 10 minutes for someone to greet us and seat us. We were given two different menus, and told the online menu wasn’t current. The wine list is limited and feels random for the winelands, even though they have their own interesting wines. The vintages were all over the place, including on their own labels, where that shouldn’t be the case. A lot of potential, but a bitter end to the meal.

The staff were so friendly, and the food was fantastic. The hotel itself is beautiful, on an old winery with lovely old trees, a pool, and historic buildings. Inside, the design feels special and very modern. It’s the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. 🤩🫶

The grounds looked stunning, and our room was clean and roomy. We had a delicious breakfast at the restaurant, too. From start to finish, the staff were kind and welcoming. We had an amazing stay at Adara Palmiet Valley and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
