I had to find somewhere else to stay late at night after cancelling my booking. DURBAN SPA was the only place that helped us, and it was clean with very friendly staff. I lost R2600 because Serena hotel didn’t even refund half, but at least we found a better place. There was no proper receptionist or parking, despite the claim that parking was available. The entrance was so crowded with people that getting in was a struggle. The photos look lovely, but the actual place didn’t. I refused to let my family stay there. When I cancelled, the receptionist was very rude and started cursing me. Serena hotel won’t see me again, and I’ll make sure all my friends and family hear about the poor service.

After viewing the place, I cancelled my booking. It was so dirty, and the bathtub had grey stains. The staff were very friendly, probably because they know what they’re selling. This is a no-go place to sleep. Enter at your own risk.

The bedroom and bathroom were dirty and such a turn-off that we couldn’t even use the room for a quick shower after arriving in Durban. The place is old and needs a complete makeover. Even the curtains are falling off. It’s like a shack.

There was just one shower for a room meant for 10, and we had no hot water, toilet paper, or towels. The place was so dirty and the service was poor. I regret staying here. Don't waste your money booking it, it felt like a hellhole.

This place needs to be shut down. The neighborhood was dirty and especially noisy at night, and inside, the floors had holes, drawers were broken, the stoves were rusty, and the lifts didn't work. Our 10-person room had one shower and one toilet, with no tissues or air freshener, so we had to buy those ourselves. There were no towels, microwaves, or plates in the rooms. The water was often turned off, and we had to ask reception to turn it back on. Everything was a mess. Ethekwini municipality should close it.
