I couldn’t put up with it any longer, so I left before my departure date. In family room 37, there was no hot water and only a tiny amount of water came out. The bathroom was dirty and smelled of urine, with hair all over the walls. Someone had used it before we checked in, and it hadn’t been cleaned or flushed. The staircases up to the rooms were dirty, as if someone had just vomited. We didn’t get fresh towels every day, and the whole place felt rubbish and disorganized. Having to pay for the key card on arrival and seeing the receptionist without a proper uniform were the first red flags. Book at your own risk.

The rates are very affordable, and it’s close to everything. Service was excellent, and the manager was helpful and open. There’s also a lady called Nadia who’s super helpful and friendly.

Room 2 didn’t have proper ventilation, and it wasn’t wheelchair accessible. There was only a shower, with no option to use a wash tub. The hand-washing sink was blocked when I arrived, and water was dripping in the bathroom.

I’d have to be really stranded to book this place again. The beds were completely worn out and very uncomfortable, and the inside door lock didn’t work. There was a desk but no chair, so I had to work sitting on the uncomfortable bed. My water bottle came out of the bar fridge with grime on it. The aircon was there but didn’t work, so in the Durban heat I had to open the window and listen to the outside aircon noises and cars. The TV was also broken, so there was no white noise to drown out the sounds coming through the open window.

I checked out yesterday, and we’d been neglected. They didn’t give guests towels or the Wi-Fi password, and there wasn’t a mat in the rooms.
