Eagles Nest Guesthouse

The food was excellent, and they also run a takeaway. The B&B is clean, well kept, and conveniently located in town. The owner seems to manage it well.

I wouldn't recommend this guesthouse. The beds were awful, and I woke up aching all over, like I'd slept on a boat. The alternative room they offered had an even worse mattress, with a visible dip in the middle. Breakfast was another problem. The receptionist asked the night before what time I wanted it, and I said 8. When I got to the kitchen at 8:12, the doors were locked and the food wasn't ready. A woman said they'd bring it to my room, but that it would take 20 minutes, so I cancelled because I was already running late for work. Then, as I was leaving at 8:15, she said breakfast was ready. It apparently took only three minutes to prepare, despite my having requested it for 8. The place felt completely unreliable.

They greeted me warmly, but the first night and breakfast were disappointing. I had to move rooms because the shower was broken and hadn't been checked before I arrived. The bed throws were stained, the cutlery didn't look clean, and the cereal bowls were old and chipped.

The location makes it decent, I guess, but the rooms look a little tacky and the beds feel worn out.
