There was no breakfast, despite the B&B name, which feels misleading. The owner is kind and friendly, and free Wi-Fi is available. You may hear children crying now and then because the accommodation is close to the household, though you still have privacy. No pets are allowed, which I liked. The room has a large, clean and comfortable double bed, plus a shower with hot running water. There's also a mini fridge, kettle and microwave, sockets for charging a phone or notebook, and a TV with streaming options if you have your own account. The area is about what you'd expect. You can walk at nearby Homestead Lake, and there's a KFC and McDonald's close by, but not much else. It will do if you need somewhere to stay. 5/10.

We are a couple in our 30s, and would never recommend anyone visit the Blyde. The host was horribly rude to us because we'd had a few drinks. He said their policies don't allow alcohol on the premises or intoxicated people, but those rules weren't on the website. I felt scammed. If we'd known, we could have looked elsewhere or left our drinks and food behind. We were left outside the gate, and they threatened to call security on my partner and me because I wouldn't leave without a refund. They eventually returned our money with a little extra, but were even more disrespectful, saying they didn't need the change. There was no respect for guests. It was late, and we had to search for somewhere else to stay.
