We arrived late, when most places in town were already full, and the woman who helped us was informative and really helpful. The rooms were spacious and had everything we needed, and the whole place was spotless. They even packed our breakfast to take with us because we had to leave early. A great stay and service all around.

The house has a lovely antique feel, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was beautiful, with both a fan and a heater. There’s also a swimming pool, and the solar system helps during load shedding.

I left feeling relaxed, thanks to the peaceful surroundings and the chance to enjoy nature. The rooms are gorgeous and stylishly decorated, and the welcome was both professional and friendly. Gewel Guesthouse deserves five stars, and I’ll definitely recommend it. Thanks, guys!

The hosts shared useful local advice about routes into Lesotho and down to Port Elizabeth. Before we left, they gave us a contact number and offered to reach their contacts in Lesotho if we ran into trouble, though fortunately we never needed to call. We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived in Ficksburg. It was a cold night, but the electric blanket and thick duvet made for our best night's sleep. Breakfast the next morning was generous, too. I'd highly recommend this accommodation to anyone travelling through Ficksburg.

We were looked after so well and accommodated in every way. The rooms felt cosy and comfortable. There was some late-night music nearby, though it wasn't coming from the premises.
