After spending most of the day on the road, I slept wonderfully in the comfortable four-poster bed with crisp white linen. I felt like royalty in the deluxe suite at Victoria House in Ficksburg, where the owners have thought of all the little touches that make you feel welcome and at ease. I also loved the honesty bar in the room. The peaceful garden has a pool, and both the three-course dinner and breakfast were delightful. Highly recommended.

Gavin was a warm, friendly host who was always ready to help, and his knowledge of the area added a lot to the stay. This beautiful old house has a striking old-world look and spacious rooms that are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully detailed. It really felt like a home away from home. I was delighted by the visit and would recommend the guesthouse. I'll be back.

The home-cooked dinners were a highlight, served with the care and style of a restaurant. Those delicious three-course meals were clearly made with real attention. The guest house has a lovely garden and combines old sandstone charm with modern comfort. On my second stay at Victoria House in Ficksburg, the owners once again went out of their way to make things work for me. Their service is warm, personal, and professional. A real gem, and I'll definitely return.

We were fortunate to be upgraded to the beautifully furnished, very comfortable honeymoon suite. Gavin and Cal's care for this wonderful home came through everywhere. Dinner was delicious and beautifully presented, with attention to detail at every turn. Breakfast the next morning included yoghurt and frozen cherries, followed by eggs made to order, bacon, and grilled tomato. Our hosts made us feel right at home, and so did Trigger, the magnificent lab cross rescue!

The rooms, dining spaces, and gardens were all beautifully looked after, making for a very comfortable stay. My family found the hosts super friendly and hospitable, and we loved our time at Victoria House. We'd love to come back and explore more of what the town offers beyond this stunning place to stay.
