Avondrood Guest House

We only had two nights at Avondrood, but the staff checked in regularly, welcomed us warmly, and offered local tips and help booking restaurants. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we made use of the pool and outdoor seating areas. Breakfast had a good selection for a boutique place. We skipped the hot options, but the cheese, meats, and pastries were fresh. It was an easy walk to the wine tram and along the main street into town.

We arrived early expecting just to leave our bags, and the hosts offered us coffee and breakfast. Such a lovely surprise. The room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, and breakfast had lots of delicious choices. The service was excellent from the start. This was our best stay in Franschhoek so far, and we'll definitely come back.

Right in the heart of Franschhoek, this guesthouse is an easy five-minute walk from the shops and restaurants. It has a lovely garden, a pool, and great rooms in a beautiful old house. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh produce from nearby farms that tasted especially good. The staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations. I'd happily stay here again.

We booked the Mountain View room and it was amazing. The hotel's shared spaces were beautiful and thoughtfully decorated, and the location put us just moments from anywhere in town. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive from arrival to departure. Karloff was especially wonderful, even arranging a doctor for my chest infection. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and the attention to detail was evident throughout. We'll be back.
