The garden was a lovely place to arrive to, with a glass of wine waiting for us. We enjoyed the peaceful area, slept very well in the comfortable beds, and liked the beautiful, modern rooms that still suited the traditional style. Breakfast was good, and I'd recommend the shakuka. Our room under the thatched roof was a bit noisy, so light sleepers may want to keep that in mind. Beams on one side of the bed meant ducking under or stepping over them. It was okay for me, but my mother struggled and hurt her leg on a knot in one of the beams. A few things could have been better: robes and slippers would have added comfort, our bathroom door didn't close properly, and the stair light wasn't working. The path from the main house could use better lighting too, and the door was always unlocked even though everyone had a key.

We had a lovely September honeymoon at Basse Provence. The setting was quaint and charming, with beautiful scenery, and we were welcomed with a glass of wine. Two tastings at the adjoining Rickety Bridge were included, which made for a fun way to try local wines. The recently revamped guest house looked beautiful, our Manor 1 Luxury Double was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were kind and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious, though service moved a bit slowly. Our main concern was noise in the room. The thatched roof didn't insulate much, so we heard birds and dogs in the valley as well as nearby cars. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but light sleepers should bear it in mind. We'd stay again, though we'd choose another room. We arrived a little early and had to wait for check-in, which was fine since we enjoyed a wine tasting meanwhile. A golf cart ride to the tasting room would have been nice. It was too cold to use the pool during our visit, though it looked lovely. The property is in a fantastic spot, just a short Uber ride from the town centre. It's a peaceful base for a wine country getaway, and we'd consider returning.

The owners were very kind and clearly tried hard to make our stay special. Our room was spacious, well organized, and elegant. Best hotel in Franschhoek, and a beautiful experience. Thank you!

The grounds were well kept and felt safe to walk around, and the rooms were clean and lovely. The staff were kind and helpful throughout, from the calm, professional welcome to checkout. Breakfast was very good, but à la carte, so allow some time for it. One of our best stays in South Africa. Thanks to the whole team.

A charming little B&B on a beautiful winery property, full of character and reasonably priced. Our room had lovely touches, breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and we enjoyed the pool on a hot day. The complimentary wine tasting at neighbouring Rickety Bridge was fantastic, and I'd recommend the winery too. Staff and management were extremely professional. We'd absolutely recommend staying here.
