La Terra de Luc

Cottages 2 and 3 were really comfortable, with free Wi-Fi and a handy fridge. We were here for a nearby wedding, and it was a great choice. The peaceful setting is stunning, and having breakfast each morning with that mountain view was a treat. This was the most relaxing of all the places we stayed in South Africa. Highly recommended for a quiet getaway.

I’d gladly come back to La Terra de Luc. It was a great place for a business trip, with quiet, comfortable rooms and safe parking. Our host was friendly, and the room had all the amenities. The gardens are lovely and the mountain views spectacular.

A very spacious, well-equipped room on a gorgeous property just beyond Franschhoek town. The views are world class, and it’s an easy walk or a short drive to town, restaurants, and vineyards. Highly recommended.

The view was the only good part of our stay in older Room 5. For the price, this was a very poor experience. We’ve stayed in places costing a third as much that had better amenities and value. The room is worn out, with old, dirty furniture, dust on the floor and tables, and a hard, noisy bed on a steel frame. We didn’t sleep well. The wooden blinds were dusty and didn’t block the light, and there were no warm blankets. There was only one mirror, in the bathroom, and a mirror in the room would have helped. A microwave would have been useful too. The cupboards are confusing, and labeling them would save guests from opening them all to find the fridge. The room could use better soundproofing, and the door between rooms didn’t feel secure. We couldn’t use the pool and were only allowed to walk in certain areas of the property. The shower flooded the room, so we used all our towels to contain the water. The towels smelled and were mouldy.
