Le Petit Bijou Boutique Aparthotel

A great little find in the heart of Franschoek, just off the Main Street. The apartment is spacious, spread over two levels, and has loads of room, with secure parking too. It felt like a home from home for a few nights while we explored the vineyards. The staff were very welcoming. There’s a pool, plus an outside balcony and garden area on the first floor. Couldn’t ask for a better spot.

The hosts were lovely, as were the gents helping out around the place. The apartment was beautiful and felt like our own home. Being right in the centre made it easy to get breakfast in the morning or have a couple glasses of Franschoek's finest wines and still stumble home. There was just one small annoyance: the main bedroom door squeaked. I’m sure a spray of WD40 or something similar will sort it.

The rooms were fresh, neat, clean and beautifully decorated, and they’d thought of everything you’d have at home. Staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. There’s locked secure parking, a lovely mountain view, and the place is right on the main road, within walking distance of restaurants and curio shops. We highly recommend La Petit Bijoux.

The location is superb, right in the centre of Franschoek with plenty of restaurants and bars an easy walk away. The apartments are furnished to a very high standard. When we arrived, the owner Karin met us and showed us around. Downstairs, ours had an open kitchen, dining room and lounge, plus a balcony with a table and 4 chairs. Upstairs were 2 rooms. One had an en suite shower and separate toilet; the other had its own separate shower and toilet, as well as a free standing bath in the bedroom. Both rooms had plenty of wardrobe space. The building used to be lived in by one family and was turned into 4 separate apartments about 18 months ago. There’s a BBQ area, sun loungers and a small swimming pool, with towels provided. Parking wasn’t a worry, there’s plenty beneath the apartments. The only problem for us was the wifi. It was very slow even when we were the only people around. We’d definitely stay again ;-)
