Our usual guesthouse was full after many lovely trips to Franschhoek, so we tried Residence Vive La Vie and got lucky. The staff were friendly and hardworking, and the guest house itself is beautiful. Our room was massive, with comfortable sofas and chairs as well as one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. This is our new guest house of choice for future visits.

Breakfast was varied, delicious, and made to order, and it was only a short 10-minute walk to the center. Residence Vive La Vie also has a central garden with a small pool, handy for a dip after exploring the city. My bungalow's living area and bathroom were both spacious and comfortable. What made the stay memorable was the thoughtful service from the small team of caretakers. They handled their work with real care, under Peter, an extraordinary hotel manager.

The breakfast surprised us after our first night, served right at the table and really good. Peter, the manager, checked in to ask how the night had gone and whether he could arrange a restaurant or anything else for us. We were welcomed with a glass of Champagne and he took us to our room, which was just as pictured and beautiful, with lovely local art. The bed was made up nicely and super comfortable. The local shampoo and body wash smelled delicious. Residence Vive La Vie has the personal attention and comfortable luxury rooms you're looking for. Really recommend it, five stars.

The hostess was so lovely, and breakfast was amazing. This is a warm, welcoming guest house with tastefully decorated, very clean rooms. We had a wonderful stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. I'll definitely book again.

The staff were super friendly, helpful, and amazing, and we had a great time chatting with the owners. We also relaxed by the pool and had the best breakfast of our travels. We had a wonderful stay at this small guest house and will definitely come back.
