There were ants all through my room, and the fridge wasn’t working. Terrible place. I’ll never stay here again.

The guest house itself is beautiful and clean, but that’s about all I can say in its favour. On my first two-night visit, the price I was quoted by phone changed when I arrived. I paid anyway, thinking it was a mistake. The following week I called again to book for myself and two other people, was quoted a nightly rate, and even checked it over the phone. The amount was different again when I got there. How is that supposed to work? Also, the long-life milk supplied in the rooms was a year past its expiry date. I won’t be back.

The deck looks out over a lovely view of the reserve, and the restaurant is peaceful, with nice food and service. Our guides knew their stuff, and we saw a wide range of animals, including the Big 5, Springbok, and the Blue Crane, our national animal and bird.

Easy to find on maps and close to the main roads through town. The guest house was tidy, staff were friendly, and the overnight parking felt safe. Breakfast had a limited menu, but what we had was well prepared.
