Soeteweide North Bb

We had a lovely time around the well-kept pool and relaxation area. The rooms and bathrooms are roomy, and the property as a whole is maintained well. The modern shared kitchen is a useful extra and has plenty of equipment; there are also lots of restaurants nearby if you’d rather eat out. The staff were very friendly and available when guests needed them. My one personal gripe was where our room entrance faced. It opened onto the guest parking bays, which run alongside the road, and that made privacy feel like an issue to me. The glass does have a one-way filter so people can’t see in. Our companion’s room opened straight into the shared kitchen. Also, despite some internet listings, this isn’t a “hotel and spa.” It’s good value, and I’d stay at Soeteweide again.

We ended up cutting our holiday short because the stay was so disappointing. The advertised washing machine and tumble dryer weren’t available, half the TV channels didn’t work, and the bathroom door offered no privacy. The pool was described as heated, but it wasn’t heated at all.

It might do for just one night, but breakfast was really oily and the kitchen area had a terrible smell in the morning for some reason. Later that day, my colleague and I got food poisoning from the breakfast we’d eaten at the bnb.

My husband and I were on a road trip at the end of December 2024 and spent one night at this awful place on January the 1st. We were hugely disappointed. The room was filthy, the bedding hadn’t been changed, there were awful spots on the sheets, urine on the bathroom floor, and no clean towels. We also had no remote for getting in or out through the gate, so every time we needed it we had to phone the manager /owner to open it. That night, the manager/owner and his girlfriend had a huge fight in the hall right outside our door. They yelled, screamed and cursed at each other, paced around, went in and out of the kitchen throwing things, and slammed doors and drawers with frightening force until 05h00 the next morning. My husband and I didn’t sleep at all. Breakfast was a disaster too, late, badly cooked and prepared, and tasteless. The kitchen staff had to take our key because the so-called manager/owner was nowhere to be found. We believe he was so wasted and cared so little about the business or customers that he couldn’t even apologize for their disgusting behavior or refund our money. We wouldn’t give the place one star and definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
