Summer Place Boutique Hotel

The hotel is beautiful, but the food has been a letdown each time. On my second visit, the steak wasn't properly defrosted. On the third, the pork chops were very tough to eat. Today I was served leftovers from the conference they were catering for that afternoon, just rice and sauce with three very small pieces of beef. I complained, and the waiter returned with a messy plate. It looked like the last bits had simply been poured onto it. They used to have a menu, but today I was told none of its items were available, only pork or lamb chops and chips. What kind of restaurant is this? I'm very disappointed. Please go eat somewhere else.

It was peaceful and relaxed, and the room was beautiful, though it needs some maintenance. They advertised dinner, but none was available. Breakfast could be had, just not at the stated times. Still, it was a good getaway.

Our group has 15+ people here, and many have similar complaints. Some don't even have hot water. In my 'Luxury 5' room, which is about as far from luxury as you can get, the shower is out of order, the aircon is broken and shows error E2, and only two of the eight ceiling lights work. The plug beside the kettle is dead, so I can't make coffee, and there's no milk anyway. I'm sharing a twin room but got just one bath towel. The sheets are stained and dirty, the toilet roll holder is broken and hasn't been replaced, and the WiFi doesn't work. Staff aren't doing anything to address our concerns. I wouldn't recommend staying here when there are plenty of better options in Joberg.

We booked into Lux5, but there was nothing luxurious about it. The shower, aircon, outlet socket, and most of the lights didn't work. There was only one towel for the two of us. I would not recommend this place.
