We spent a wonderful time at Gulu Resort. The sunsets were gorgeous from our room overlooking the river, and the catered meals we tried were a real highlight. The big braai area and kitchen made a great spot to spend the evenings. Thanks to the Gulu Resort team for such an awesome stay. We can't wait to come back!

That calm, relaxed feeling hits you as soon as you arrive, and the location and views are superb. The family who run the resort are absolutely lovely and kind-hearted, and all the food is homemade and delicious. Rolo the dog is a massive USP too! Very few places have had this effect on me. Hope everyone else has as much fun here as I did.

This is my third visit, and I'll keep coming back whenever I need a place to stay in East London. The views from the restaurant and rooms are stunning, and the food is tops, with generous portions, so there's no need to drive into town to eat. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and they always treat you like family. Gulu is well worth a stay. I reckon the people leaving bad ratings must have done something wrong or be impossible to please.

The food at our wedding at Gulu was absolutely delicious and authentic. Guests kept saying it was one of the best wedding menus they'd had. The team also took care of the decor, and the attention to detail was wow! Ilona and Karien handled every detail of the event and nothing felt like too much trouble. I can hardly put into words how amazing the wedding was. If you're trying to decide whether to host yours at Gulu, just book it. Thank you, Karien and Ilona, for making our day extra special!
