They even let you use the kitchen if you want to cook. The rooms were clean, the air conditioning worked, and they had both cereal and a hot breakfast. A very decent place.

Breakfast was a letdown. There wasn’t much room to sit, and the outdoor tables were dusty and dirty. The owner’s grandchild or the receptionist’s grandchild had a whole table taken up with toys and cereal, so I had to ask another guest if we could share his table. The bacon tasted very sour, like it had gone off, and I couldn’t finish my breakfast. We also had a long wait to get in. Reception said they were at the mall and told us to wait about ten minutes outside the gate. I was worried we’d be late for our function, but she said she was waiting for a Bolt. Luckily, a guest staying at Honey Bee arrived and opened the gate. After we waited inside, reception called me and had me go behind the desk to collect our room keys. That let me get ready, but it’s unprofessional and unsafe. I could have taken things from the desk, and people shouldn’t be trusted to open boxes of keys. When we got back from the function, there was no hot water. Reception said they use solar and would switch on the geysers, so we had to wait for them to heat up. I was exhausted and ended up washing my face and going to bed. My husband didn’t want to sleep without washing, so he showered in cold water. If you rely on solar and know it’s raining with no sun, the geysers should be turned on ahead of time. A guest shouldn’t have to point out the lack of hot water. Noise from other rooms and people walking around kept waking us. It echoed into our room and sounded almost as if it was right outside our door. The bedding was okay, though we always bring our own just in case. The reception staff were nice, but service is what matters in a business. The place also needs serious maintenance. I wouldn’t recommend it to future guests.

The eggs at breakfast were yummy, and the lady was friendly, yena shame. But the location really isn’t ideal, and in the morning there was no water because of a municipal issue. That brings it back to the area, which seemed like some kind of township. The bedding was brown, with stains on the sheets and pillows, so I wondered if it was clean. There were also lots of cats on the property. I suppose at R250 a night you can’t expect much.

We felt so small because of how we were treated at your guest house. The person helping us was rude and made us eat in the garage, even though there’s a dining room. We can’t wait to check out. The service is very poor, and I’ll never recommend this place to anyone.

The service and rooms were great. It’s a bit far from town, but well worth spending time there.
