Park Place Boutique Guesthouse

The shower dripped so badly there was barely enough water to shower, and there was bottled water in the fridge only on the first night. Breakfast was okay, but not good. No filter coffee, just instant, and the fruit wasn’t fresh. It’s not a boutique hotel or four-star, three at best. I don’t recommend it.

The place fell well short of its advertised quality, and I wouldn’t recommend it for a comfortable stay. My room’s sofa was torn and worn out, while outside the grass hadn’t been cut and tiles were broken. In the bathroom, masking tape was poorly covering problems around the taps, and the plumbing felt precarious. For somewhere claiming four stars, it barely felt like two.

I told them about my diet when I arrived and said I’d be fine for at least two days, so they’d have time to sort things out if they didn’t already have what I needed. Instead I had to buy my own things, and they only tried to help after I complained. The first night the room was so dusty I couldn’t sleep because the sheet smelled of dust. The ladies came to clean, but on my second day I still had to clean the kettle myself. Not a good experience.

Park Place boutique guest lodge was a beautiful place to get away, rest, refresh, and prepare for meetings in East London. The retro rustic decor made the experience special, the facilities were neat and excellent, and the staff were warm and friendly. The food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
