Quarry Lake Inn

Quarry lake is run professionally but still has a homely feel. The staff are friendly and attentive to your every need.

The staff are absolutely amazing, and the food is delicious. BEST place!

I was greeted in my room with a welcome letter addressed to me, which was a lovely touch. The rooms have loads of character, and the location is great and quiet. My only small gripe was seeing little flies all over the breakfast food, fruit and bread included, probably because the lake is right beside the cafeteria. The omelette I ordered came quickly and was delicious. Great room and service, I do recommend it. I’ll be back 😁

The architecture and landscaping are brilliant. Turning an old quarry into a bird sanctuary, hotel, and housing area took real imagination and determination. I wish more quarries did something similar. We loved watching the yellow weaver birds build nests in the morning as we had breakfast in the glasshouse overlooking the lake and bird island. The staff were attentive, kind, friendly, and helpful, and we felt very secure. We ordered dinner from uber eats so we could relax and enjoy the atmosphere of Quarry Lake Inn. Bravo to the architects and landscapers! The hotel is a lovely, well-run find in East London. I’ve never had fresh milk in a creamer in the mini fridge at other places, but it’s standard here. The room coffee was fresh ground for a french press, not instant. Breakfast was thoughtfully laid out, with several kinds of raisins, pumpkin seeds, and yogurt. Omelettes were made to order and looked great, and the muffins and fresh-baked croissants were excellent.
