The horse rides were the deciding factor when my girls and the rest of the family voted on where to spend Easter. Having Alu ride along gave them more independence, and Dash the donkey kept us entertained as usual. We also loved Marion’s bee lesson: she showed the kids her hives and taught them loads about beekeeping. The birds were a highlight too, including Half-collared Kingfisher, Spotted Ground Thrush and Blue-mantled Flycatcher. We stayed at The Haven for a week over Easter and had a fantastic time. It’s being done up, but still has that Wild Coast charm. The food was good, and the seafood was especially delicious. We enjoyed the hikes and the beach as well.

It’s a lovely place for a family getaway from modern life. The staff were super friendly and the food was great. Our room was very basic and rustic, but the linen was nice and clean. Internet and phone service were extremely limited, if available at all, so it’s not somewhere to try to work from. The beach is a short walk away, with lovely hikes along the coast and through the forest. We found the ocean warm and great for swimming, and there were lifeguards during the holiday season. The roads call for a patient driver and a vehicle with good clearance.

Meals were generous and well prepared, and the staff were friendly and really engaged. The beach is beautiful, and the setting feels wonderfully remote. The access road was surprisingly good. The Haven is still a work in progress, but I firmly recommend it.

The views and landscapes are so pretty, and the staff at The Haven are lovely and dedicated. There are cute pets, good food, and the whole place feels authentic. It’s one of the prettiest places on Earth. The Wild Coast is one of my favourite places on Earth ✨ Please stop by if you get the chance! 🌊❤️

We only mentioned in passing that it was my friend’s birthday, and the staff baked her a cake from scratch and sang happy birthday to her. It was so sweet ❤️. The hospitality was great, the staff were really friendly, and the food was great too. It’s an amazing place to relax, and you don’t need an SUV or Bakkie to get there. I’ll definitely come back.
