The place has a lovely feel, and it's affordable too. The lady was so welcoming and friendly, it felt like home. Rooms are roomy, bright, neat and beautiful, trust me. It's close to restaurants, and I'd totally recommend it if you're in PE. I didn't take any room photos.

The staff were friendly and knew their stuff, and the room had a fridge and microwave. There was fast, free WiFi too. We had all the facilities we needed to feel at home, and I'd definitely recommend the guesthouse.

I've never been so disappointed or slept so poorly. The breakfast was awful, so I skipped it on my second morning. I said I don't eat pork, but that was ignored. The eggs were cold, the tomato slice was raw, the yogurt was cheap and sweet, the juice was even worse, and the coffee was instant coffee mess. On arrival at the Bnb, the staff didn't know anything about my booking. They asked me to fill out a form and sign terms and conditions they couldn't show me. Then a miserable staff member ushered me out and took me to another property. It felt empty, with no real staff around. There was a housewife, I guess she lives there and cleans, but she was always shut away in her room. Every sound echoed into my room. The fridge was noisy, the TV barely qualified as one, and the air con could drown out a mass murder. The place was under the airport's approach path too. The bedding looked, smelled and felt like a goodwill buy. No hope of getting an iron or any kind of service.

The staff were friendly, but there were a lot of problems. For all six days, breakfast was eggs and bacon, with no real range of cereals. We ended up having yogurt with cornflakes. On Christmas day it was bread with jam or butter and cornflakes, and we were told the staff were off with their families, so there'd be no proper breakfast. We'd only seen two ladies there, so it wasn't clear who was off, and one of them even said she lived at the B&B. There was a mouldy smell from the showers, and dust piled up under the beds, as if they'd not been moved for about a month. The website listed braai facilities, but there weren't any.

Since the takeover, the place has had a complete makeover and is now, in my view, the best value in town. It's clean, bright and handy for everything on the Port Elizabeth beachfront. The Areena Riverside Resort and Ruslamere Group Rathbone family Group recently acquired it, and there's new, family-oriented quality management and staff in place. Their E-Bike beachfront tours are amazing and fun. A very nice establishment, keep it up.
