Breakfast was a lovely surprise, with plenty of cereal, fresh fruit, juice, yoghurt, and fresh tea or coffee made for you. The tea came in a proper pot, not just a teabag in a cup, and Mary cooked a fresh breakfast to order. Mary and Chris were so welcoming when I arrived, showing me around, and my room was spotless and beautifully decorated. It had everything I needed, including water, milk, tea, coffee, snacks, toiletries and a good hairdryer. I wasn't sure what to expect since my travel councillor booked the guest house, but I was more than happy with it. Nothing was too much trouble for Mary or Chris, and they even made time to chat with guests when they could have been clearing up or taking time for themselves. I can't rate the place highly enough. If I'm in Port Elizabeth again, I'll stay here. A huge thank you to you both for your hospitality and all the work you put into this beautiful little guest house.

Chris and Mary are such kind, friendly hosts. The place is amazing, very neat and clean, with all the necessities, really comfortable beds, and a very safe setting. We'll definitely be back. Thank you so much, if I could, I'd give you even more stars ***** :) Love Johan and Trish

We stayed with Mary and Chris in April 2024, and it felt like home away from home. They were incredibly hospitable and flexible, even with our late arrival. Breakfast was fabulous, and they gave us great suggestions for things to see and do nearby. We only wish we could've stayed longer.

Bright on 5th is a real gem, we felt like we'd landed in a bucket of gold. Mary and Chris are lovely and so helpful. The rooms are clean and extremely comfortable, and the location is perfect, close to the mall, restaurants and beach. I've stayed at a number of B&Bs, and this is right up there with the best. Breakfast is superb. Highly recommended, lovely hosts. TOP DRAW !!!!!!
