The staff were friendly and attentive, and breakfast was perfect as always. We ordered supper; the steak was a little overdone but still tender, juicy, and tasty. The blueberry cheesecake is a great dessert, definitely recommend it. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The manager was extremely helpful and moved us to a bigger room, at my expense of course. I'd skip this dated hotel. We booked a room with two queen beds and a fridge through Booking.com, but arrived to find just one bed and a fold-out couch I wouldn't let a dog sleep on. I don't know whether the problem was Booking.com or the hotel, but Booking.com is the biggest scam.

Dinner had plenty of choices and the food was really nice. The rooms were clean and fresh, and the service was very friendly. Prices felt reasonable.

I asked at check-in for the receptionist to fix the spelling of my name and my email address, but neither was corrected. Later, when I ordered the cauliflower steak for my vegetarian main, what came out didn't resemble one. The team took it off the bill, which I appreciated, and said they were missing some ingredients. They also promised a feedback link and said the manager would get in touch about dinner. Months later I requested my invoice and asked again for the link. They sent the invoice, but there was still no feedback link or follow-up about my experience. You'd expect a chain to meet the same standards as other City Lodge hotels around the country, but that wasn't my experience. If you don't have the ingredients for vegetarian dishes on the menu, please tell guests. And please train staff to record guest details properly.
