Island Way Villa

The staff are amazing, but our stay at the so-called luxury villa has been awful because of the host and manager, TARRYN. The villa smells like sewage, and the chairs, windows, and glass doors were dirty. She was arrogant, rude, unaccommodating, and unprofessional, and trying to communicate with her got us nowhere. The service promised when we booked wasn't delivered. We paid R180 a day for breakfast for 9 people over 3 days, but were offered only one option, which didn't meet our dietary requirements. We were told that was all they had instead of being accommodated. We don't eat pork, yet we were forced toward it despite other options being listed on the menu. Breakfast was also set for 12:30. Tarryn showed no interest in helping and made the stay horrible. It doesn't feel like a 4-star experience, whatever the certificates or awards shown on the listing say. We want to speak with the owners or someone senior, and expect a full refund for days when no suitable breakfast was provided because of the host's attitude and lack of hospitality.

If you're thinking of booking, do yourself a favour and don't.

The staff were friendly and cleaned our rooms, and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. The Villa is beautiful. I just wish we could've stayed longer.

The property itself is beautiful, but our stay at Island Way Guesthouse didn't match the 4-star experience we expected. There were few drink choices in the fridge, the bath towels were small, and there were no face towels or washcloths. The booking.com photos gave the wrong impression: no robes or fancy breakfasts. Breakfast felt flat too, with unset tables and no background music. The place lacked atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, though. It has potential to feel luxurious with a few changes, but for now it's a pretty, unremarkable stay.
