Road Lodge Port Elizabeth Airport

For 700R, you get a clean bed, a clean shower, a comfortable bed, kind staff, and a literal walk to the airport. There’s secure parking for your car as well. What more would you expect from an airport lodge at this price? Those bad reviews are pure non-sense. Book without any fears. It’s a solid place that deserves 5* for its service at this price point.

I booked through Agoda after a 30 hours commute to Port Alfred. The room was acceptable, but getting to the hotel on foot with heavy luggage was awkward since I had to cross the road twice. There’s no elevator, so bear that in mind if you’re carrying a lot. My AC was cut off twice during the stay with no explanation. I had to ask for help myself, and was told it was “load shedding,” even though the AC and lights were still working perfectly on the ground floor by reception.

On 10&11 Sep 2025, there was no water at the hotel at all, and the reception staff didn’t tell the guests. We slept and left without bathing because there was no backup water. At night, you can hear your neighbours making noise as if they’re right in the same room. The reception ladies were unprofessional, didn’t seem to care, and weren’t bothered. If peace, comfort, and professionalism matter to you, don’t stay at this Road lodge. It’s not worth the money. Worst experience!

I only stayed one night, and it was the worst night of my life. The room stank, the carpets were dirty, and the bedding smelled of urine. I’m gagging just remembering it. The one redeeming thing was that the bathroom and toilet were clean ✌️
