We chose to braai and swim instead of heading to the restaurant, and picked up excellent lamb at the Chargo shop in town. Obesa lodge is a lovely place for a one or two night stopover. Highly recommend it.

It’s a lovely place, and you can tell someone is putting a lot of effort into keeping it looking good.

10/10
There are plenty of birds in the garden, along with lots of quirky ornaments. The lodge has a pool, and inside the rooms are nicely furnished with a comfy bed.

8/10
The bed was comfortable, but the room felt quite dark and hot. There were very few power sockets.

I’ve stayed at Obesa for years because it’s such a comfortable and convenient place. It’s the best in the area, and Hennie, the hosts, and the staff are amazing.
