The house has a wonderful old-world feel, with portraits and furniture that seem to reach back to the Boer War, even though the place itself isn’t as old as it looks. Our room was lovely, from the bedding and extra fluffy blanket to the heated bed. There was also tea, coffee, rusks and bottled water in the room, and breakfast was really good. It was too cold for the pretty garden, but at night the place was wonderfully quiet. My brother and I were the only guests that evening. We spent time in the beautiful lounge and could light the fireplace, with wood provided. There was wine and soft drinks to buy in the guest fridge. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, lovely people. I’d happily recommend staying here. Five stars.

I couldn’t make the dates because my circumstances changed, but Adele and Sodara were very understanding and readily let me rebook, even at short notice. Before that, they’d communicated well and offered great service, including reaching out to arrange restaurant reservations for us. Thanks, and I hope to experience your hospitality another time.

The Victorian villa’s character and design brought a lot of charm to our stay. The homestay is beautifully situated, and our host was warm, attentive and quick to respond throughout. We paid extra for breakfast, and it was well worth it. I’d definitely recommend it.

Adele and her staff made us feel very welcome, and their suggestions for activities and food were helpful. We especially liked the theme, which made it feel like stepping back in time. The rooms were nice and clean, and the breakfast option was very good. The area around A Pilgrims Rest is quiet and safe, and it’s ideally placed for the panorama road. We had a perfect stay and I’d definitely recommend it.
