I’ve always liked stopping here, but this visit was disappointing. There was only one sachet of creamer and sugar for two of us. We’d each had half a cup when we arrived, so there was nothing to drink in the morning until we drove to a shop. It was freezing, which didn’t help. The TV was stuck on one DJ music channel 😏

The setting is superb, and the rooms are good. There’s a lot to do, with pools, a braai spot, tennis and ball badminton courts, pool and snooker tables, table tennis, zip lining, a kids’ playground, an archery range, basketball and a trampoline. There are also many restaurants. We had a great stay. You can see the mountains, with snow on their tops, and there are several trekking routes along the river, where the water is clear and plentiful.

Handy for an overnight stop while travelling, and it’s easy to get to restaurants and shops. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The ablutions are quite old and need some maintenance, though they’re workable if you’re only staying one night.

A good halfway stop off the N3 for travellers. The camping area felt safe and had clean ablutions, and the chalets were very good too.
