The grounds need attention too. There was visible pollution around the property and quite a lot of animal feces across the park, which detracted from the area's natural beauty. Even with grass-eating animals, cleaning and proper management should be a priority for somewhere calling itself a resort. It gives the impression that environmental care and upkeep aren't being taken seriously. The bathrooms were truly unhygienic, and the swimming pool was neither clean nor appealing, though it should be a highlight. The deck was broken and didn't look likely to be repaired soon, which didn't inspire confidence. There also seemed to be very little control of the invasive species in Hartebeespoort Dam, affecting the atmosphere throughout the place. I wanted to enjoy my stay, but the reality didn't match the hype. Eagle Waters Resort may look appealing online, but the maintenance and hygiene need serious attention before I could recommend it.

I'm at the resort now, and I really don't understand its popularity. The property as a whole is poorly maintained, and it feels as though the owners have lost interest in keeping it up. The toilets and showers are the worst I've ever encountered. The state of the facilities and hygiene is the biggest problem, and it seems little care goes into daily operations or longer term maintenance. I wouldn't recommend staying until there's a major renovation and a change in management.

Being right by the Dam meant we could fish late or early in the morning, but there wasn't much else to enjoy, and the property overall isn't maintained. The online booking itself was stress free, and check-in was easy, but that was about all that worked efficiently. We emailed to move our accommodation from the 17th to the 18th, and got no reply for a whole week. We also had to call several times to get an invoice changed, and that was finally done days later. One room had no TV, although there was a mountain on the wall where it looked like one should go, plus a dstv dish outside. Some indoor and outdoor lights didn't work. When we arrived, there was barely any cutlery or crockery, just knives, glasses, and plates. There were no blankets either. Those were brought to us the following day.

The chalet was nothing like the pictures or description, so it felt falsely advertised. The fishing grounds were filthy and clearly not being maintained, nothing like what was advertised either. Service was terrible, with staff who seemed unhelpful and uninterested. The whole visit was a complete letdown, and I wouldn't recommend it.
