Mount Amanzi

We really enjoyed our weekend here. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The restaurant food could be better, but we were able to cook our own meals, so it wasn’t a problem.

You walk straight into the bedroom, which shares an open plan with the kitchen and lounge. The units are in terrible condition and clearly aren’t maintained: the fridge compartment was missing, cupboard doors squeaked, the toilet seat and pedestal drawer were broken, and the TV remote was taped up. There was no WiFi or in-room phone to reception, no carpets, and the dinner plate wouldn’t fit in the tiny microwave. Walking along the path to the second pool, it smelled like a sewer, and the pool water was murky rather than crystal blue. Moving us to a better-kept room would have solved some of the problems we had today, 26/1/2026. This felt more like a retirement village. I definitely won’t return, I might as well go camping.

The resort has a lovely, peaceful setting, but during the holidays it’s inconsiderate to blast music at the pool behind reception at 8am and wake everyone. Keep it audible for the people at the pool who are already up. The chalet layout also needs thought. We stayed in a five-sleeper, though I’m not sure if there’s another option, and five adults had to share one bathroom beside the kitchen and bed. That doesn’t make much sense. It looks like the units got a basic upgrade, but the bathroom at least hasn’t been redone recently. The resort should consider changing the layout, perhaps by making the bathroom bigger or adding a second one. Honestly, the layout would make me think twice about booking again. Thank you.

The pool chairs and area around the pool were filthy, and there were no pool towels. Nobody told us, and every other resort provides them. On Monday, the cleaning lady was annoyed and asked why I hadn’t washed the dishes from the night before, even though she gets paid to do that. There was no WiFi either. Zero stars from me, I’ll never go back. For a five-sleeper, having just one bathroom in such an awkward spot is ridiculous. The bedroom is basically in the kitchen. Worst resort, never again!
