Golden Fern

Easy access to the Hermanus Cliff Path was a real plus, since it's a must-do while you're here. My husband and I had a short but lovely honeymoon night, and Annemarie and Dave made us feel special with their wonderful hosting. I especially appreciated the gluten-free breakfast choices. The bathroom was a bit small and awkward to move around in, though everything was beautifully presented. Wish we'd stayed longer, Hermanus is beautiful ❤️

Annamarie and Dave make this B&B a real find in Hermanus, and the whole property is spotlessly clean, a credit to the team. Breakfast is a standout, with fresh fruit, cereals, homemade bread and cakes, plus cooked options like bacon and eggs made how you want them or pancakes. Nothing seems too much trouble for guests. Annamarie also goes the extra mile with booking trips and tours, and can often find you a good restaurant table thanks to her knowledge and connections in town. We keep coming back time after time.

Sadly, we had to cancel because airline cancellations linked to the ongoing regional conflict were affecting flights through Dubai, so we never got to experience the guest house. The Potting Shed Guest House was understanding and empathetic, and arranged our refund without any trouble. We really appreciated the kindness and hope we get the chance to stay there if we travel to SA again.

We got some great suggestions when we arrived, including a hike past the cliffs and a wine hopper safari. Both were worth doing. It's a lovely place with friendly service and a good spot near the centre, beaches, and wine route. If you're in the area, you should visit Hermanus. We'd definitely stay here again and hope to return.
