After busy days exploring Hermanus and the surrounding area, it was lovely to come back to such a quiet place. There’s a lot to see nearby, all walkable from the guesthouse. We were warmly welcomed and got plenty of tips on where to go. Our room was lovely, the bed very comfortable, and the pool and garden were a nice bonus. Breakfast was outstanding, with lots of fresh, tasty options. I write reviews as though I’m telling a good friend what a place is like, so five stars aren’t automatic. This really is a wonderful place to stay, and I’d highly recommend it if you’re travelling to Hermanus.

Breakfast was one of the best parts of our stay at the Penguin Guesthouse. Each morning brought something fresh and special, prepared with care, creativity, and love. You could taste how much thought went into every dish. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel at home with genuine warmth and kindness. Their hospitality is outstanding, and the whole guesthouse shows how much they care about making people comfortable. The peaceful, beautiful location made it easy to relax, and we wished we could have stayed longer. Experiences like this are rare and memorable. We’d gladly give it 10 out of 5 stars, recommend it to anyone without hesitation, and hope to return one day.

The breakfasts were delicious, and the staff made us feel very welcome. Our cozy, clean and comfortable room was a pleasure to come back to after exploring the area. Penguino Guest House is well located, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic, relaxing stay and highly recommend it.

It was peaceful and relaxing at the Penguino Guesthouse. Our room was clean and spacious, and hosts Stefan and Nikki were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, among the best we’ve had. Highly recommended.

Nikki welcomed us with open arms and Stefan hosted an excellent brekkie. They also gave us great local ideas for things to do and places to eat or have a drink. Thanks for the lovely stay and fond memories in Hermanus.
