The old building gives Windsor Hotel a relaxed, historic seaside feel, with cosy lounges, fireplaces, a pool table and welcoming shared spaces. Its seafront position is a real highlight, with spectacular ocean views and shops, restaurants and attractions an easy walk away. We were greeted warmly, and the staff stayed welcoming throughout. The complimentary glass of wine or juice at check-in was a thoughtful touch. Our room was comfortable and cosy, though the bed felt quite hard and the pillows were thin, so we didn’t sleep as well as we’d hoped. There’s no air conditioning, which could be a problem in warmer weather, and no lifts, something to bear in mind with mobility concerns or heavy luggage. We also ran into water problems. The pressure was extremely low during our stay, and the hotel ran out of water late one morning, which was particularly inconvenient. The shower is set inside the bathtub, which may not suit everyone. There’s plenty to appreciate here in the setting, views, welcoming service and old-world character. The lack of lifts and air conditioning, the bedding and the water issues did take away from our stay, though many travellers may enjoy the atmosphere.

We were a group of 26, and all of us were busy, needy and demanding, but the staff kept being friendly and helpful. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful and we had an awesome time. A fantastic spot by the beach, with shops and cafes less than five minutes away on foot. The seafront setting has a great atmosphere, the rooms are top-notch, and the service was five-star throughout. I’d definitely stay again.

A great choice for a business stay, and I’m sure leisure guests would enjoy it too. The hotel team made everything delightful, and the spacious room had a veranda, good-quality bed and bedding, and a powerful hairdryer. Breakfast is a buffet with a great variety to choose from. It’s close to town and has a lovely sea view.

We were a couple staying at Windsor Hotel, and had a lovely time. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was so convenient to walk everywhere from the hotel. Our room was fresh and clean, breakfast in the mornings was amazing, and there’s safe parking at the back. We’ll be back.
