House 22 Blyde Wildlife Estate

We spent five nights here with our two kids and would love to return one day. The house and estate are lovely, with a great pool, a veranda and beautiful views of the Blyde escarpment. The kids enjoyed wandering around and spotting giraffes, warthogs, impalas and zebras. We also visited Jessica the hippo, and the kids fed her, as well as the Moholoholo Rehabilitation centre. The Blyde Canyon panoramic route is worth a day trip.

We saw plenty of birdlife, as well as warthog, giraffe, zebra and various antelope around the house every day. It's a relaxing place to stay, with everything you need, and it's also well located for places like the Kruger National park and Moholoholo rehabilitation center. The house was even better than it looked on the website, a lovely surprise. The view was stunning, the house spotless, and the pool fantastic. We had a domestic worker available 24/7. Susan gave us a warm welcome, shared activity information before the trip, helped book some excursions, and replied to emails very quickly. A great trip, thanks, Susan. Well worth a visit.

We had a wonderful weekend, with the Drakensberg and Mariepskop making a perfect backdrop. The spacious houses sit among majestic trees and game, with long walks along game trails or by the Blyde river. We also had an awesome Sunday buffet breakfast at the restaurant and excellent service from the staff.

We were welcomed at the main gate and shown to the holiday house we'd booked. It was very clean, with a lovely view towards the Drakensberg Mountain. The kids had a ball in and out of the pool, and we made good use of the braai area. We hope to return soon.
