Maninghi Lodge

The lodge itself was incredible, with animals often visible while you sit down to breakfast. The family who run it were among the kindest, most accommodating people I've met, and they went well out of their way to make the trip memorable. We arranged a Kruger trip, the Panorama route, and an ATV safari through them alongside the usual game drives, and had a great time on every outing. Hayden was our guide. He's on the younger side, but knows a lot about the animals and the bush, and was enthusiastic about answering questions and explaining things. Maninghi was one of the highlights of my South Africa trip, and I really hope I can return soon.

Animals wander right past the lodge, which is great with no fences around it. Hayden, our guide, worked so hard to make sure we had a good time. This small lodge by the Olifants River felt intimate, with excellent food and friendly staff.

Elephants and giraffes were by the river just outside our rooms when we arrived, and they had picked us up from the airport. The location is excellent. Vicky and Paul, the lodge managers, paid attention to all the little things we needed, and Hayden was knowledgeable and friendly on every excursion. The service felt above three stars, and the food was excellent too. Maninghi completely enchanted me, so I'm grateful we chose it and will definitely return. 10/10 recommended.

The rooms were comfortable and the food was fantastic, and we're so glad we stayed at Maninghi. We hope to come back one day. Paul and Victoria were friendly, accommodating, and clearly care about the wildlife and the land they live on. We were looked after from our airport pickup through to departure, and learned a lot about the area and its animals. The game drives near the lodge were fun in both the early morning and evening, with a variety of animals to see. We highly recommend the guided Kruger Park trip. Hayden did a great job teaching us about what we saw, and the guided Panorama route day trip with Paul was outstanding, thanks to the area's beauty and Paul's expertise.
