Sausage Tree Safari Camp

We saw a wide range of animals, including so many babies. That was especially memorable, and I was grateful to see Wild Dogs for the first time. The game drives, the beautiful surroundings and our fabulous safari tents were all part of a great four nights at Sausage Tree Safari Camp in December. The food was amazing, the staff were friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests. We also loved spending time with Sonja and James. It's lovely to see the effort they put into making guests feel at home and developing and promoting job opportunities for locals. If you're looking for an unforgettable safari in the greater Kruger area, this is the place. Thanks, STSC team. We'll definitely be back!

We saw everything we could have hoped for on the drives, which were a total surprise. The hosts and guides were super friendly and experienced. From the views and service when we arrived to the luxury tent and its ultra-comfy bed, everything was wonderful. We had the best time at Sausage Tree Camp and it was really hard to leave. We'll be back as soon as we can!

I first wrote this after our June 2022 visit, three years ago. Our family has travelled to more than 50 countries, and we all still rank Sausage Tree among our top three experiences ever. The game drives were unbelievable. Guide Themba and tracker Jimmy know the area inside out, and watching them track animals was fascinating. We saw lions, leopards, rhinos, hyenas, elephants, zebras, giraffes, kudus, hippos, water buffalo and more. We felt incredibly lucky, though it was clear how much their skill had to do with those sightings. Their stories and knowledge of the wildlife and land made every drive even better. Our family of four loved the intimate feel of the camp and getting to know the staff and other guests. Julia and Karen were warm, helpful, and went out of their way to look after us. The whole team made us feel pampered. Every meal was excellent, and Chef Pieter made fresh, delicious food while taking care of my vegetarian needs. The property is beautiful, with a gorgeous main lodge, a wide deck and stunning Drakensberg and savannah views. The tents are well appointed, with indoor bathtubs, outdoor showers (the best!) and blissfully comfortable beds. Sausage Tree is a special place, and we'll always cherish our time there.

We saw two elephants right from the terrace, and the game drives were outstanding, with so much wildlife. We stayed two days in one of the premium tents. The food was top quality, everything was clean, and the service was so good. You'll love it.
