The room was comfortable and warm, with a lovely view of the mountains and sunrise. The location is handy too, about 100 meters from a supermarket and most local restaurants, with three walking trails just a few minutes away. There’s no internet, as we were told in advance, and there isn’t a reception. I had to ask other guests to find out that the owners also run The Edge, another guesthouse. I got the key information there, and payment was handled there too.

The unit was very clean and neat, in a beautiful area, and had all the equipment needed for self catering. It’s within walking distance of a pub and restaurant. We really enjoyed the experience and recommend it. It’s also very well priced if you’re visiting as a group.

There’s plenty of space for larger groups and families, with a great living room where everyone can wind down by a cosy winter fire. The beds are nice, the facilities and utilities are sufficient, and that fireplace is a real highlight. It feels safe and secure, and it’s close to town and the beautiful arboretum. A must for anyone who wants comfort and room to spread out.

A cosy, lovely little cottage for a short getaway. There’s a nearby shop with essentials, though they’re overpriced. My cottage was gorgeous, but lacked cooking facilities. Add a bar fridge and microwave and it’d be perfect.

I booked my bed through THE EDGE and paid R300 for the night, which was excellent value. The bed was firm, the linen fresh, and the bathroom clean and tidy. Just what a tired traveller needs for a comfortable night.
